Windows 7 disable page file


When having a suitable amount of RAM (say 4 GB), one can decide to disable the paging file in order to stop windows from filling this file with data.

How can one disable windows 7 paging file?
1.   Go to ‘computer’ or ‘my computer’ (if desktop shortcut) < right click and choose ‘properties’.
2.   Click ‘Advanced system settings’ < go to ‘performance’ and click ‘settings’
3.   Go to ‘advanced’ tab < click the ‘change’ button under ‘virtual memory’
4.   Uncheck the ‘automatically manage paging file size for all drives’.
5.   Under every drive check the ‘no paging file’ and press ‘set’ button.
